In June of 2012, I received a scholarship to travel with a group of students from Oklahoma State University to the Doel Reed Center for the Arts out in Taos, New Mexico. I hand bound a sketchbook with various types of paper for the trip to use while plein air painting. Besides the Taos area, I also traveled and sketched around the whole of the Enchanted Circle, falling in love with the variety of architecture, vegetation, and natural formations.

Pages from sketchbook trip from June 2010. I traveled to Taos, New Mexico for the first time through the Doel Reed Center for the Arts, a brand new program at Oklahoma State University. I was able to spend two weeks sketchbooking all of the colorful and rich histories that are present in the Taos Valley, including attending a Pow-Wow.
